“What teachers really want to tell parents” by Ron Clark Thoroughly explains that parents are starting to lose trust and respect towards teacher, in ways that may seem to be unfair to both the student and the teacher, and may result in disaster.
“What teachers really want to tell parents” by Ron Clark, explains to me that parents are trusting some over excitations that kids tell and blame it on the teacher or the school board which can result in a negative environment toward the teacher and the student. I agree with Ron because, what teachers tell us is true, or else they wouldn’t be teachers. Clark displays multiple reasons how teachers can be right, and how parents shouldn’t jump to conclusions. As in when he explained one of his pet peeves, when a parent finds out that their child did something wrong and asks their child “is this true?’’ In my opinion, I feel as if the children know they can get away with certain things as long as they tell their parents a small lie. It also came to me that Parents are making excuses for their children too. As in when Clark tell about a student who hasn’t done a home work that has been assigned months ago, and the parents make excuses like “He had a very rough summer” or “I just wanted to give him some ‘fun time” I feel that parents should put more trust into the teachers that are teaching their kids, it will create a cleaner environment for everyone.

In Praise of the F word, by Mark Sherry, Explains to me that there are multiple excuses to blame on how, and why kids fail classes, anywhere from a bad time at home to the drama going on in their lives, but the real reason is the need and want to get good grades.
In Praise of the F word, by Mark Sherry, Demonstrates how young adults may not get the proper education in order to go to the college they want to got, or have they job they want, which could change their lives drastically. Mark didn’t really focus this discussion on the kids who actually have good grades, but the young adults who had a hard time during high school. He claims in one part of his article that some young adults that he encountered didn’t even make it all through high school. However in his words, the graduates who actually made it through high school broke his heart even more when they told him that they shouldn't even got their diploma. I feel as if that may be their problem, and It doesnt really matter how much of a hard time you have at home, I mean that may be a reason, but you should rise up. It’s the want that gets the A plus students to where they are, not slacking off. I felt a connection with Mark when he explained that his son was going to flunk english but got his grades up, because I got horrible grades before high school and did not really care. When I joined Colorguard and got into highschool it was a fresh new start.I feel as if we may have to rise above as students and help each one another out.

Lost and found, by Elenor Perry-Smith clearly states how rare and priceless treasures can be found unexpectedly, especially expensive old paintings.
Lost and found by Elenor Perry-Smith describes to me how one may not really recognize an old painting until they get a closer look because it may seem as if it doesn't have much value to it. Elenor states how a man by the name of Timothy Standring picked up a painting that had a rare great value to it. I think that Timothy kind of took a risk with this painting, because it might not of been of any worth. However the flawless composition made an impact on him. I also feel as if what he did was the right thing, and that this painting will be a huge hit in the Denver Art Museum. She also described how Timothy went all the way to London to consult Charles Beddington, who was an expert on the author of the painting, Giovanni Antonio Canal(Canaletto). One of the lat people she talked about was James Squires who was in charge of restoring the painting. I feel as if we may underestimate some things in life, but once we find them they will be priceless To us forever, I felt this way with the article,

What's wrong with the teenage mind?
by Alison Gopnik, describes how complicated the teenage mind can be,
and how confused adults get, because the age of puberty is decreasing
while the age of adulthood is increasing. Alison also explains how
puberty has something to do with nerves in our brains. She tells how
though there are kids with the book smarts, that they get lost at
choosing the right path form, life. Some teenagers may even end up in
jail or get pregnant because they may be a little lost. Alison showed
the science and proved her point while explaining about how teenagers
change from adolescence to a true adult.
What's wrong with the teenage mind? by Alison Gopnik, shows to me how, from an adults point of view, teenagers may be a little rowdy, and the fact that the maturing age is increasing, now from the age of 20-30. I feel as if Alison talked more about science instead of actual teenagers themselves. she kept taking about how puberty is coming at an earlier age. I can connect with that. I also feel as if, maybe the reason why we are developing the minds we are, is because of everything that we are exposed to when we are a little bit smaller, and what we are experiencing now. She also talked about how, our minds change with our nerves. Also how even though there are smart kids out their, they may be a little lost when it comes to life. I feel on the same page with Alison, but I also feel as if this article may be a little offencive to teenagers them selves.

Boy’s Severed Arm Is Re-Attached At Hospital Here, By Carole Mcwilliams Illustrates that the unexpected can happen at a family trip. I really like this story, because not only is this great story about a boys survival this boy was actually my father. I read this article almost every single night and think about what could of happened to him, and what did. I really like how the author covered the story from bit to bit. from the actual rock slide to how he got his arm re-attached. She talked a littke bit about how Ron's sister died. She also talked about how his uncle helped to! She described how the family had gone on a little hiking trip but how this one was truly different.

What if? By Karl Fisch illustrates that students depend on technology to the point where They may worry teachers and school staff. Karl uses a podcast to describe that students rely on technology to "learn properly". By the quotes Karl presents, the teachers and school staff also seem uncomfortable as technology moves up. From the seventeen hundreds to the present he explains that the more technology grows, the more students rely on it. He also points that teachers may find it more expensive to buy these new materials. Karl proved his quotes by including the associations and teachers who said these quotes. He then moves the subject to how Arapahoe High School deals with the new technology. Lastly he puts In his own opinion about the new technology.
What if? By Karl Fisch describes how we may be a little afraid of how technology is growing, and that, we maybe scared if we find out what would happen if technology disappeared . I would understand why teachers and school staff members are afraid to relay on new technology, because I would also be scared that we would relay on a type of technology that may run out or stop working. However I also think that it maybe a good thing to engage into this new technology. I feel as if, with the technology that we have now, that we are just moving up, like nothing can stop us. Karl also states that not only teachers are afraid of this technology, there are also school based associations that are concerned. I also like how Karl included Arapahoe High School, and how they deal with technology. he talks about how there are signs that read: Please keep your phone turned off or on silent at all times!
I think that not only are we afraid of the new technology, that we don't think of it as such a “huge” thing.

Is google making us stupid? by Nicholas Carr, Describes how the internet can make us lose our train of thought when is comes to reading long articles and even books. Nicholas Carr is a journalist and has been using the computer for over ten years. He states that he’s been losing concentration when it comes to reading long articles or even books. His accusation, the internet. Carr claims that before he was using the internet, he was reading books, and that he loved it, but know that he’s a journalist and uses the internet alot, he feels as if it is harder to get into a book or a long article. He then states that Maryanne Wolf (author of Proust and the Squid: The story and the science of the reading brian), has the exact same observation. She states that the internet may weaken our brains, maybe to the point, where as, we may lose interest in long articles or books, Because we are already filling our brains with the internet. Carr describes how With technology moving forward, the “out-of-date” old-fashioned books and articles may be left behind.
Is google making us stupid? by Nicholas Carr, States that, Even though technology is getting newer, our brains seem to stay the same, they may be actually getting worse because of the internet. Even though Carr makes some valid points in this article, I dont think it’s the computer, or even the internet, that's making us lose focus when it comes to reading long articles, or even long books. I feel as if It’s the things that are put into the internet that make it hard for us to concentrate when it comes to those things. I also feel as if we can't concentrate and get really bored with long articles and books, Is because we kind of get bored of it, and we want the new and improved, facebook, or twitter. However I can relate to his accusations, because I do have a hard time getting into books and articles, I have a sudden craving for what the internet has to offer. I can also connect with Maryanne Wolf. Who, like Carr, feels as if our brains are getting weaker as technology is getting stronger. I can connect with Carr and Maryanne in this type of situations, but I think we also have to realize that with the internet, comes people who post things that don't really make sense.

High School, but shorter, by: Sue Shellenbarger show’s how smart, Kids can graduate early and get scholarships to major colleges. There are a lot of pros to this concept as well as cons. These kids who graduate early mostly graduate because the school level was to “slow paced” and to easy for them, while others wanted to move on with their lives. Like Luke Priebe and Laura Paul. Luke’s father wanted him to graduate early because the school level he was at was too slow paced, and was afraid Luke would lose his love for school. There is also Laura paul, who like Luke is smart, but graduated for a different reason. Laura wanted to graduate because she wanted to live in a more assorted area, where she could learn in a Non-rural area. While they get this chance to graduate one year early, other kids may not get the chance.
High School, but shorter, by: Sue Shellenbarger show’s How smarter kids can graduate early to go to college, which I feel is important for kids to get the proper education to have this choice. Luke Priebe and Laura Paul both have the proper education to go through with college. even though according to most education they're supposed to be in high school. I feel that if I were put in that situation, I would probably stay in high school, for social and educational reasons. I don't think I would last very long in college if I was really smart. I would feel the need to get more education to be more comfortable. I also feel a connection with this story, because my father also graduated early to continue with college. I really think that Sue makes valid points in this article and I agree with her view on education.

Nicholas has been using a computer for over ten years, and ever since then, lost his train of thought when it came to reading long articles or books. He then proves his point by talking about some professors and researchers who also agree with him. Like, Maryanne Wolf. Maryanne Wolf is a developmental psychologist at Tufts University and the author of Proust and the Squid: The story and the science of the reading brian. She states that the internet may weaken our brains, to the point where we may not be able to go into deep reading, like we were before technology. Nicholas also shows how it used to be the same way with television, but now since we've changed our technology, we've changed how we think. Nicholas tells about how our minds change with technology, and how technology changes with our minds.
Is Google making us stupid? By Nicholas Carr, Illustrates how the Internet can make us lose thought or not concentrate when it comes to deep reading, books or articles. Nicholas makes a very valid point in this article. I also feel as if it is hard for me to read deeply when I read a book or a long article. I predict that maybe when technology grows, our thought process may not. Nicholas also makes valid points when he brings up, and speaks about Maryanne Wolf. Maryanne Wolf is a developmental psychologist at Tufts University and who is the author of Proust and the Squid: The story and the science of the reading brian. I also agree with how with the new technology we have people tend to ignore books. Nicholas Speaks out and tells how the most genius idea, may not be healthy for our brains.

“A Single Lucid Moment” By:
Robert W. Soderstrom, states that no matter where you go you can find
family. This short story is about a couple who go to a village in New
Guinea, by the name of, Maimafu. These villagers greet the couple with
smiles, a shelter and food, like a family. Even though this is a village
of eight hundred people, every one there is family, they even tell each
other stories to entertain each other. Robert and his wife brought
pictures of their home town to show the villagers how it was like in
Chicago. One of these pictures included two homeless men, eager to
learn, the villagers ask question, upon question to find out why these
two men don't have homes. Robert tries to explain, but doesn't help the
puzzled villagers. The next morning Robert wakes up with a knock on his
door, Four villagers greet him, and tell him, that they have a plan. The
Villagers tell Robert that they want to move the two homeless men to
Maimafu, but Robert has to explain to the villagers, that, there are many
homeless in America. Even though the villagers were discouraged at
first, but they understood, that life in America is different that their
home village.
“A Single Lucid Moment” By: Robert W. Soderstrom Illustrates that you can be any race, or be from different countries, and be a family. I loved how the Villagers treated Robert and his wife, like a family. They supply the couple with a comfortable shelter, a garden with multiple vegetables and fruits to eat. I love the part where they tell the stories, and Robert brings photos of his home town Chicago. one of these pictures include, two homeless men. The Villagers don't understand that some people just don't have homes, Robert tries to explain to the eager villagers that people don't have homes, but doesn't get much luck. The next morning the villagers try to explain that they have a plan to move the two homeless men, but Robert has to define the problem and tell the villagers that there are a lot of people in America who are homeless, sad but understanding, the villagers went on with their eight hundred villagers. I love this story, because, it shows that in different parts of the country, people have a different way of living, in Maimafu a village of eight hundred people is a family, on the other hand, in America, you barely know eight hundred people.

“A Vision of Students Today”
By, Kansas State University, illustrates how students use technology
today, however it is not effective to their system of education. Many
College students show how it’s like to be a student today, with new
technology, and hundred dollar books, they get to the point. From how
they make money to how they spend their time in class, and how they use
their time on the internet. This shows that many students may not find
what they are taught relevant to their lives. This video also shows how
students can waste time so easily, some students are over achievers, and
some are slackers. Some students also use the technology for their
education while others use it for fun. Some students even talk about how
they read more facebook pages than books. Students today use technology
for multiple things, however technology is scarcely one of those
things.
“A Vision of Students Today”
By, Kansas State University, shows how students may not get the
education they need with the technology today. I agree, but at the same
time disagree, because, I do a lot of my homework on my computer, but at
the same time, the internet can get very distracting. “A Vision of Students Today”
also shows me that most of the technology, and the current the
education system may not be relevant to our lives. Now or ever. I also
like how some the students explain how they goof around on the internet,
instead of doing work. However there are some students over achieve and
work hard to get through college. This reminds me of how I spend my
time on the computer, sometimes I can waste I hours, but most of the
time I work on the computer. I really think This video talks about and
illustrates how students feel about education and technology.

Cinderella!
Cinderella is one of the classic Disney movies, made In February 15 1950.
This Classic by Walt Disney, is about a girl who's dad died, and she is stuck with her evil step mother and sisters who treat her like dirt. They force her to cook, clean and sleep in the cold attic, but she does have some light, with her optimism she may be able to win over the prince, at his ball. Unfortunately her step mother will not let her go unless she finishes a list of chores, and make her self a dress. With the help of her friends she completes the list of chores and makes a dress from some of her stepsisters old UN-wanted clothes, and runs out to the carriage, but her step sisters see that she is wearing their old clothes, and rips Cinderella's new dress to shreds. With tears she runs to the garden to cry. While crying she see's a woman, this woman is her god mother, who gives Cinderella a hand. With her wand she turns Cinderella's nightmare into a dream, turning her shredded dress into a beautiful gown, and sends her off to the ball with one condition...Cinderella has till midnight to win the prince over, and after midnight the spell will break. With high hopes she goes to the dance and dances with the prince, they fall in love, but midnight comes and Cinderella must leave, she runs away and leaves one glass slipper behind, Which intrigues the prince into finding his princess, with hope he finds the house in which Cinderella and her step mother and step sisters are living. both the step sisters try on the slipper, but it doesn't fit, and right as the prince is about to leave, Cinderella stops him and tries on the slipper, with the perfect fit, the prince takes Cinderella's hand in marriage, and turns her from a poor sister to a elegant princess. This story reminds me of my childhood, I had some discourages but I also had some good times too.
